Well I guess I'm the first person to start a thread. My name is MacShadowsBall and I am super excited about this new website. I've been a fan of Dark Shadows since I was kid growing up in the 90's. My first exposure to Dark Shadows was watching the 1795 storyline on Sci-Fi back in the mid-90s. Then I lost track of it but rediscovered it in the late 90s and been hooked ever since. 😃
Hi Mac! I first discovered Dark Shadows in the 7th grade when I did a report on vampires. The following year, 1991, was when the revival series premiered with Benjamin Cross as Barnabas Collins. Around that same time, my local video store starting getting the MPI Dark Shadows collection videos. I bought many of the first ones, but it was difficult for me to keep up with all of the releases being so young. I, too, caught some of the show when it ran on Sci-Fi in the mid 90's. I've spent the last ten years or so watching Dark Shadows on VHS, DVD, and various streaming outlets, and now I'm excited to start catching all of the old episodes on darkshadows.tv!
I remember going with my parents to Blockbuster (flashback to 1998) renting Dark shadows. Kinda confused me though watching on scifi too!
7th grade doing a report on vampires must have been really cool. Dark shadows was my first exposure to vampires. Vampires before and after for me will always be judged on how they were presented by Dan Curtis and company.
